  • Oh my god. How cool is that. I am the "admin girl" for that site, and for whatever reason, I didn't get the comment you left. I tend to get a lot of comment spam, and have my securities high for that stuff, so probably somehow it got mixed in with the comment spam.

Similarly I didn't get your email, though I will look for it now to forward it to Kelly.

That girl who mentioned you in the comments section named Kelly is my sister in law.

The internet is such a crazy small place. Really puts into practice the notion of global village.
  • Hi, I sent you a comment earlier, did you receive it?
  • I received and accepted it.

Can I just say how giddy I am?

Looking fwd to hearing from you both.
  • Hi Zoe. My sister-in-law sent me the link to this post. Amazing! I haven't seen or talked to you since high-school, maybe even earlier. Kelly Binkle (I'm still getting used to it too) formerly Kelly Walker. I don't know if you will remember me or not, but either way, I'm impressed with how small the world has become via the internet. Definitely feel free to email me anytime. I would love to catch up (the 10 to 15 odd years that have passed). Take care.
  • First, I have a question coming from a technologically challenged perspective: What does Meta mean in the computer/blog world? I saw it first on your blog. I believe in Sanskrit it means "loving kindness" and I never knew it to mean anything else. In response to the Vanity-Volleyball story... it is nice to know that in an increasingly competitive world, a young Zoe Siskos(even if it was a different Zoe) chose to share some of that "meta" with a young girl who was in need of some encouragement. Positive steps create positive reactions, and it is beautiful to see them unfold.
  • re: Meta
Something on an abstraction level higher than the current. To go meta means to take a step back and look at the bigger picture - which can be done indefinitely in an arbitrary number of ways.

Specifically in computer-land it means "relating to" or "based on." For example, a metadirectory would be a directory relating to, or about directories. More simply put, a directory of directories.

So the META title on my blog is blog stuff about blogs.

    Make sense now? :)
