That certainly is a cardinal! I live in MI, we used to see them all the time about 25ish years ago...much less frequently now though.

Definitely a cardinal!
Not sure if there is a subspecies.

Yup, Bill's right. That's the Northern Cardinal. I get them in my backyard all the time. What you filmed is the male. The female is alittle more brownish in colour than red.

I'm no expert and it's hard to tell from the video but I think it's a "Northern Cardinal"
